ACDC Offer 'Future White' Products as Minimal Trend Takes Off

According to interior designers, architects and those in the know, white is the colour of now and tomorrow. The current trend for all things minimal has seen a move towards the colour white being the coolest choice for a whole host of aspirational products – and this is a trend that is definitely…

The Future White movement takes its inspiration from retro space-age ideas but uses the feel of new technology across finishes, textures and fabrics to give a contemporary twist. There is a heavy use of 'minimised texture' to give purity - balancing fluid lines with visual representations of technology to portray a forward-facing look that has its finger firmly on the pulse. Inspirations are minimal, clean lines incorporating 'pure' technology and decorative surfaces are finished in the same tone.

With the incorporation of the Future White into architectural design on a massive scale, it follows on that lighting design will not be many steps behind. And, whilst pure white LED’s have been used in a great many projects for a number of years, it has been the luminaire housings themselves that have been guilty of ‘spoiling the overall design theme’ – quite often being offered in black and silver finishes only.

To tie-in with this burgeoning minimalist trend, ACDC Lighting Systems have a number of products available in a Future White finish, including the industry leading Genius, Morpheus, Electra and Lucina luminaires. All feature the superb Luxeon LED within the award-winning ACDC housing configuration, to offer long lifetime, reliability and high performance.

Lucina (pictured) is a high output, low voltage, long-life linear lighting solution that, being incredibly small and boasting an IP65 rating, offers an ideal solution for uplighting building facades, coffers and windows. The extended LED lifetime means that Lucina is perfect for hard to reach areas and the RGB colour-mix option allows any spectrum of colour to be achieved.

Available in multiple lengths of 300mm and 400mm up to a maximum length of 1.2m, Lucina utilises a 1 Watt dual binned Luxeon LED with luminaire efficacy of 42 lumens per Watt. Lifetime is in the region of 50,000 hours to 70% lumen maintenance and other finishes include silver anodised aluminium. A 2 Watt version of Lucina is also available.
