The Global Lighting Association (GLA) is a grouping of national and regional lighting associations and serves as the unified voice of the lighting industry worldwide. Founded in 2007 as the Global Lighting Forum and incorporated as a not-for-profit company in Australia in 2021, it brings together 27 associations, among them LightingEurope, NEMA, JLMA, ELCOMA and the lighting councils of Australia and New Zealand, representing over 5,000 lighting manufacturers. It is a forum for technical and policy exchange on light at night, light and health, environmental sustainability, international substance regulation such as the Minamata Convention, and realistic regulation of solid-state lighting.
