The China Association of Lighting Industry (CALI) is the national industry association of China's lighting sector. Founded in August 1989, with its secretariat in Beijing, it was separated from government administration in 2017 and works under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Its members span the whole lighting value chain: mainly manufacturers, but also universities and research institutes, testing and certification bodies, design and installation firms, specialised markets and regional industry associations. CALI compiles industry statistics and market analyses, takes part in drafting national and group standards and chairs the national lighting standardisation committee SAC/TC 224, advises government on industry policy, and organises conferences, exhibitions, trade publications and international cooperation.
