Out Now: Electro Terminal's Whole Range of Microcon SMD Power Connectors
The introduction of LED lighting has revolutionized the way lighting systems are designed. Simple “metal plates with electrical components” have been replaced by sophisticated electronic devices. Electro Terminal has developed the Microcon SMD Power connector to provide direct mains voltage supply to electronic PCBs within a lighting system. This connector is only 7 mm high and facilitates easy entry of solid and flexible wires of 0.5 mm² to 2.5 mm². The whole range is out now – Microcon SMDP with one pole (1P), two poles (2P) and three poles (3P). In addition, the internally connected two-way version (2C) is available to limit the current load for daisy-chain wiring on the PCB.

Featuring the best far field pattern matching and the lowest power consumption in its class, the new LED delivers 40 percent better contrast ratio and a longer lifetime than competing LEDs. BJB SMD Terminal Blocks: The Best Connection for all Requirements

Osram Adds New Oslon Black Flat S to Its Automotive Portfolio
Osram Opto Semiconductors has launched the Oslon Black Flat S series, the world’s first surface mountable LEDs with up to five individually controllable chips. Thanks also to the contrast ratio provided by the package, they are predestined for use in ADB (Adaptive Driving Beam) headlights. Switchable light segments enable oncoming traffic and traffic further ahead on the road to be masked out, making driving more comfortable and safer. With their improved thermal properties, these high-power LEDs offer system benefits and are suitable as an attractive entry-level ADB solution even for vehicles in the compact class. The new 3-chip version in the Oslon Black Flat S series has been available since October 2016, and the versions with four and five chips will be available from January 2017.

Oslon Black Flat S for Automotive Provides up to 2000 Lumen
Osram Opto Semiconductors is unveiling an LED prototype in surface mount technology (SMT) with a brightness of up to 2000 lumen (lm) at ISAL 2015 – the Oslon Black Flat S. Experts achieved this high output by combining five chips from the latest UX:3 generation with an improved SMT package. A single LED is therefore sufficient as the light source for combined low-beam and high-beam systems. The excellent thermal connection with the package allows for passive cooling, which reduces system costs. The Oslon Black Flat S is consequently a viable alternative to HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamps and is scheduled to be added to the Osram automotive portfolio at the end of 2016.
