Innovative XLS Product Family from Osram is Revolutionizing the Signal Lamp Market
Osram is launching XLS (eXchangable LED Signal), standardized LED light sources for signal light applications in the automotive industry. By combining standardized light sources and LED technology they will fundamentally change the automotive signal lamp sector. “For the first time, a uniform platform with four different light sources can cover all the important signal applications in vehicles. This allows simple replacements, reduces complexity and overall costs for car manufacturers and leads to faster development processes thanks to adapted standards”, said Hans-Joachim Schwabe, CEO Specialty Lighting at Osram. The LED-based signal lamps are scheduled to appear on the roads from the fall of 2018.

Osram Presents Innovative SMARTRIX Modules for Compact, Intelligent Headlamps
Matrix light not only contributes to greater road safety but also gives headlight designers greater freedom thanks to its smaller dimensions. This technology is therefore very much on the march. To meet the demands of the automotive industry for more and more compact smart headlights Osram has taken this technology an important stage further with the development of innovative SMARTRIX modules. TI's New Automotive LED Lighting Controller Without Internal MOSFET
Texas Instruments introduced the first 3-channel high-side linear automotive light-emitting diode (LED) controller without internal MOSFETs which gives designers greater flexibility for their lighting designs. The TPS92830-Q1's novel architecture enables higher power and better thermal dissipation than conventional LED controllers, and are particularly beneficial for automotive LED lighting applications that require high performance and reliability.

Dutch Town Is First in World to Install Bat-Friendly LED Street Lights
Signify, the world leader in lighting, today completed its first bat-friendly lighting installation in a town. Rare bats in Zuidhoek-Nieuwkoop, in the Netherlands can now go about their nocturnal business undisturbed thanks to new connected LED street lights designed specially to emit light that does not affect their natural senses and rythms. The street lights use a special light recipe that is perceived by bats as darkness, yet which provides enough illumination for residents, helping make the roads and pavements safer, while being highly energy efficient. The project illustrates Signify’s leadership in developing innovative LED technology that is both smart and supports conservation and sustainability.

Osram Launches First Product in New SensiLUM™ Wireless Integrated Sensor Product Family Designed for Smart Building Applications
Osram, a global high-tech lighting company, today announced the launch of SensiLUM™, a wireless integrated sensor product family. SensiLUM sensors, which will debut at LIGHTFAIR International (LFI) 2018, enable occupancy detection, daylight harvesting and individual or group control of luminaires over a mesh network based on ZigBee® standards. The SensiLUM sensor fits into an industry standard ½-inch knockout in any luminaire. It is compatible with the ENCELIUM® EXTEND Networked Light Management System (LMS).
