Bi-Pin Light Plugz® LED Engines for Low Voltage Retrofits
American Illumination, Inc®, a LED engine design and manufacturing company, is introducing the patent-pending Bi-Pin Light Plugz® light engine series designed for the Cree XP family of LEDs. Produced especially for light fixture designers, Light Plugz® (LP) is a four-series product line that incorporates intelligent thermal sensing technology, advanced custom optics, improved heat tolerance and a selection of interchangeable heat sinks to suit unique applications. The Bi-Pin series is ideal for low voltage retrofitting and sustainability in lighting.
Mark Lee, President of American Illumination, notes, “We’ve boosted overall lumens output and nearly doubled the efficacy of the Light Plugz® while keeping the product size comparable to standard MR16 or MR11 halogen bulbs. This level of performance and scope of models offered makes this LP series ideal for any application where an MR11 or MR16 bulb was previously utilized.” Bringing the most sophisticated lighting projects to life, Bi-Pin Light Plugz® are perfect for retail displays, museum displays, furniture lighting, track lighting, up lights, under cabinet displays, wall sconces, track and recessed lighting.
These Light Plugz® feature a single chip per engine and are designed to run cooler, offer higher lumen output, and provide greater efficiency with a smaller footprint than the original version. The bi-pin configurations offered are the standard GU5.3 clippable base or G4-sized bi-pins with a flush base. The Plugz housing is threaded for compatibility with American Illumination’s many original design heat sinks, thus contributing to their versatility in retrofit and unique indoor or outdoor lighting applications.
American Illumination has also enhanced the Light Plugz® line with custom optics available from 10 to 80 degrees. Optics can be swapped for uniquely designed decorative lenses that create an omnidirectional glow and bulb-like aesthetic.
