LG Innotek Unveils the World's First 70 mW UV-C LED
LG Innotek today announced that the company has developed the world's first 70 mw UV-C LED for sterilization applications. As its sterilization performance is 1.5 times higher than the competitor’s 45 mW module.UV-C LED produces the short wavelength ultraviolet rays in the range of 200 – 280 nm, allowing it to be used for sterilization purpose. It prevents the proliferation of bacteria by destroying their DNA. LG Innotek’s product emits UV in the range of 280nm.

Osram Adds Six New High-Power Infrared LEDs to Its Oslon Black Family
Osram Opto Semiconductors is expanding its Oslon Black family for the infrared range with six new automotive IREDs. The 850 nm versions are intended for exterior applications such as night vision, pedestrian protection, pre-field recognition and lane detection. The new 940 nm versions are suitable above all for interior automotive applications such as driver monitoring, seat occupancy detection and gesture recognition. Thanks to different wavelengths and lenses these products cover a wide range of customer requirements and can be operated at up to 5 A in pulsed mode.

Luminus Enters UV-C LED Disinfection and Sterilization Segment with Two 280 nm Emitters
Luminus Devices, Inc., has expanded its ultraviolet (UV) LED portfolio with two new 280 nm devices intended for the medical and health and well-being product segments. The standard footprint 3535 surface mount emitter is a 350 mA device with peak output up to 60 mW. The second ultra-compact emitter is 1.3 mm by 1.3 mm and only 0.85 mm tall; it delivers 3 mW at 20 mA and peak output of 11 mW at 100 mA.
