TI DC/DC Converter with Integrated 40-V, 1.2-A Current Switch Supports Up to Three High-Power LEDs
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) introduced today a high-brightness LED driver with an integrated 40-V, 1.2-A switch that can drive up to three 1-W LEDs in series. The new TPS61165 device's high-performance features and input voltage range of 3-V to 18-V allow designers to efficiently manage multiple high-power LEDs used in single-cell, battery-powered applications or point-of-load designs with a 9-V or 12-V bus.

LINEAR TECHNOLOGY offers 45V, 1.3A/2.3A LED Drivers for Boost, Buck or Buck-Boost with integrated switch
Linear Technology announces the LT3517 and LT3518. They are both 45V, high side current sense DC/DC converters designed to drive high current LEDs. Their 3V to 30V input voltage range (with transient protection to 40V) makes them ideal for a wide variety of applications including automotive, industrial and architectural lighting. The LT3517 and LT3518 are identical except for switch current limits. The LT3517 has an internal 1.3A switch, whereas the LT3518 has an internal 2.3A switch.

National Semiconductor Announces Highly Integrated, High-Brightness LED Drivers with Wide Input Voltage Range
National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) today added two new light-emitting diode (LED) drivers to its PowerWise® energy-efficient product family. National’s LM3401 and LM3405A LED drivers power 1W to 5W, high-brightness LEDs found in industrial and automotive applications as well as general illumination applications such as solid state and signage.
