Light-Based Technologies Presents New "Deep-Dimming" Drivers for Helieon™ LED Modules at the Bridgelux Booth at LF2011
Light-Based Technologies Inc. is providing the deep-dimming electronic driver used to display the award winning Helieon™ LED-based lighting module to be prominently displayed at the Bridgelux booth at Lightfair International 2011, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, held this year May 17-19th in Philadelphia.
Bridgelux chose the LBT solution for its phase-cut deep-dimming capabilities which showcase the quality and performance of the Bridgelux products in a variety of lighting applications LBT selected phase-cut dimming as its initial dimming control target due to its wide-spread use in residential and commercial applications. The ability to provide flicker-free deep-dimming allows LEDs to provide the functionality and high quality light of incandescent and halogen lamp technology while also enabling the replacement of higher lumen HID and fluorescent sources with added dimming capability for increased energy savings.
LBT’s phase-cut deep dimming LED drivers emulate the smooth, seamless 0-100% light output curve of incandescent lamps, and work with both leading and trailing edge dimmers. Flicker-free dimming below 0.1% is the level of performance that will enable lighting fixture manufacturers to speed the adoption of LED-based solid-state lighting (SSL).
Jason Posselt, Vice-President of Marketing for Bridgelux, stated “the deep-dimming performance delivered by LBT’s drivers when paired with the Helieon can provide luminaire manufacturers an easy, economical, and flexible Solid State Lighting solution without sacrificing the high quality light demanded by the general lighting market.”
The Helieon™ light engine, is the result of a joint development between Bridgelux and Molex Incorporated (NASDAQ: MOLX and MOLXA), combining industry-leading solid state lighting technology from Bridgelux with innovative, easy-to-use interconnect technology from Molex, delivering to interior and exterior OEM fixture manufacturers effortless installation, interchangeability and upgradeability. The potential to marry the simplicity of the Helieon with the control offered by LBT provides lighting fixture OEM’s a powerful solution to the quality dimming demanded by the general illumination market.
