Goniophotometry is an absolute measuring procedure that can achieve a higher level of accuracy than sphere photometry. It does not require a luminous flux standard, but in contrast is often used for calibrating standard lamps for luminous flux. In addition to the luminous flux, photometric spatial radiation properties, so-called luminous intensity distribution curves and the colorimetric distribution of radiation emitted from a light source can be determined. Measuring the Oxygen Content of Blood with LEDs

Pulse oximetry is a non-invasive method for determining haemoglobin (Hb) saturation through oxygen in the blood and heart frequency.
