www.lightplan.net.au James Wallace is the Design Director and a co-owner of LightPlan, a boutique professional lighting design practice located in Perth, Western Australia. Spanning a 40-year career in the lighting community, James’ design experience draws from a broad base of projects pertaining to both interior and exterior spaces; however, his current design interests lie in the concepting and detailing of immersive environments pertaining to the night-time activation of public open space developments and applying architectural “light with meaning” onto building facades and structures. James has also built a reputation as a public speaker, educator and mentor at an international level, having participated at events such as Light+Building, Frankfurt; Lights in Alingsas, Sweden; Lighting Urban Communities International (LUCI) AGM, Shanghai China and Gwangju Korea; IESANZ Convention, Sydney; and PLDC, London. During 2011-2019 he has presented invited papers and led professional discussion groups in Perth, Philadelphia, Portugal, Berlin, Manila, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Chongqing, Hong Kong, Taipei and Tokyo.
