Under the Patronage of Abu Dhabi Municipality, LightingTech Abu Dhabi was Launched Today
Under the patronage of Abu Dhabi Municipality and hosted & strategically endorsed by Etihad ESCO, LightingTech Abu Dhabi summit was launched today at Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa. This summit is organized by Advanced Conferences & Meetings.
Eng. Sami Abdul Qader Alhashmi, Divisional Director, Infrastructure & Municipal Assets Sector at Abu Dhabi Municipality delivered the opening speech at the event.
Dr. Jamal El Zarif, Technical Advisor, Infrastructure & Municipal Assets Sector at Abu Dhabi Municipality announced the Abu Dhabi wide street lighting retrofit project and their aim to retrofit 42,632 fixtures with smart lighting technology.
Eng. Eiman Alameri, Studies & Standards Team, Infrastructure & Municipal Assets Sector at Abu Dhabi Municipality delivered a detailed overview of current and new projects and future plans for smart lighting adoption in the city.
Eng. Alameri’s presentation was followed by another one from the Design & Coordination Director at Musanada, Dr. Nassra Al Dhaheri who shared the lessons learned from the adoption of sustainable lighting and how to optimize this for Abu Dhabi projects.
An international keynote about the importance and impact of night-time lighting design on social activity and building communities was presented by Florence Lam the Global Lighting Director at Arup, UK.
The event included a networking lunch and many breaks that brought together all attendees, speakers and sponsors in a professional friendly atmosphere.
The first day of LightingTech Abu Dhabi created the perfect platform for the attendees to build relations, exchange ideas and seize business opportunities throughout the ACMi+ interface that allowed for many networking breaks which created a dynamic, efficient and relevant learning environment.

Day two (December 12) of the summit will feature many more interesting presentations, to name a few: An international keynote address about understanding the real impact of lighting on your business by Lee Barker-Field, Head of Lighting Design at AECOM, UK, lessons learned from road lighting projects by Eng. Khaled Al Madani from the Public Lighting Department at Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) and many more.
