LAMINA Debuts New Corporate Identity and Web Site
Lamina Lighting Incorporated (Lamina), an innovator of LED lighting systems and technologies, enters its 7th year in business with the introduction of a new corporate identity and web site summarizing its growth from a pioneering start-up to an influential leader in the solid state lighting industry.
“Lamina has been credited with heralding a new era for the lighting industry, and in many ways our new corporate identity personifies that spirit of challenging the norm. In just the past year, trends in performance have signaled that LED technology is essential to the future of lighting and our company’s role in the industry has developed to meet those challenges,” said Frank M. Shinneman, President and CEO, Lamina. “We’ve demonstrated that we are a key player in a category that is growing increasingly important, and this has greatly influenced the creation of our new corporate identity.”
In its first seven years, Lamina developed the brightest LED lighting products utilized in myriad lighting fixtures and installations throughout the world, including major hotels, retail stores and theatrical events. The company has shipped nearly one million LED lighting products worldwide, contributed to the creation of industry standards, and worked with government agencies to promote the advancement of LED technology. Lamina holds numerous patents for LED lighting and continues to broaden its formidable portfolio of leading intellectual property. By refining its corporate identity to better match its leadership position, Lamina aspires to broader recognition as one of the lighting industry’s foremost contributors of cutting-edge LED technology.
“Our new corporate identity is more than just a logo, it is the outward expression of how our company has evolved toward becoming the ‘best in class’ for technological innovation, performance, price, quality, support and service,” said Dan Polito, Vice President of Marketing, Lamina. “Since its inception we have led the industry in the ultra bright white LED lighting arena, and we are now positioned to continue this forward momentum with a corporate identity that communicates our professionalism, strength and credibility to all our key constituents.”
Laminas’ expansion strategy involves an approach that encompasses OEM, lighting systems & accessory sales, and licensing, with the aim to eventually touch every application of ultra bright white LED illumination. “We believe that the declining costs of LED lighting applications will translate to a future where all lighting becomes LED lighting. As the quality of light continues to improve, the cost of operation is significantly reduced, and there seems little reason for end users to choose ‘harsh, flickering and energy hungry’ when they have access to a great deal more,” said Shinneman.
The company also believes the energy savings represented by LEDs will play a role in their forward movement. For example, Lamina’s Carbon Footprint Reduction Program includes a labeling initiative that provides specific measures of energy consumption for which the company and its products are accountable. The product labels include information about how the energy that is being saved by using the products contributes to offsetting harmful CO2 emissions, to hopefully help customers make more environmentally conscious purchase decisions.
Laminas’ new identity symbolizes two complimentary ideas, principally as it relates to the company’s increased success in the ultra bright white lighting markets. Since entering the white light market in 2004 the company has introduced a new generation of LED products and accessories with enhanced features, launched a line of plug-n-play replacement lamps, and increased its investment in product development to aggressively grow its stake in the market for 2008 and beyond.
To visually express this business direction, the new corporate identity continues with its well-recognized BRIGHT LIGHTS. BRIGHT IDEAS. tag line, and the company name “Lamina” is emphasized in a new, and bolder typestyle, conveying market expansion while maintaining the concepts of innovation and forward momentum for which the company’s technology is recognized. Additionally, Lamina’s new corporate identity mixes the factual with the metaphorical by incorporating a light burst symbol that represents the company’s flagship Titan Series LED light engine array.
