Ensto Acquires new Business from Mount Kelvin – Ensto Workspaces Revolutionizes Employee Experience
Ensto has acquired Workspaces business from Mount Kelvin. Ensto Workspaces is a smart lighting control solution that improves employee experience by making light personalized. Ensto has acquired Workspaces business from control system supplier Mount Kelvin, while also investing in Mount Kelvin. Ensto continues to develop the innovative lighting control solution now called Ensto Workspaces.
"Ensto Workspaces is an open IoT solution that provides lighting control and superior conversion flexibility, as well as other value-added services such as office utilization rate measurement, presence information and, in the future, other services that bring added value", says Jukka Tiitu, President of Ensto Smart Buildings business unit. The solution utilizes Wirepas Mesh technology owned by the Finnish company Wirepas. Wirepas Mesh is a software product that enables wireless IoT networking at massive scale. It is a decentralized IoT network protocol that can be used to connect, locate, and identify lights, sensors, assets, trackers and devices.

Making light personalized:
Toni Anttila has been appointed Head of Workspaces at Ensto. The new business is responsible for partnerships and developing and selling the new Ensto Workspaces solution. "With Ensto Workspaces, we can provide customized and easy-to-use lighting control for offices. Light plays a major role in employee satisfaction and productivity. I'm looking forward to developing a solution that creates a better employee experience", says Anttila.
The new solution makes light personalized as to employees' needs and preferences. In practice, this means that the working environment is adapted to the needs of the employees and not the other way around.
