Avnet Electronics Marketing and CAO Group Ink Distribution Pact
Phoenix Arizona USA--LED innovator and design/integration firm CAO Group has selected Avnet Electronics Marketing to distribute its Dynasty family of high-brightness LED devices, as well as its entire line of solid state illumination products and system-level solutions.
LightSpeed, Avnet’s specialized illumination-focused business unit, will support CAO Group’s technology throughout North America. “CAO Group has diverse offerings and capabilities, especially in the area of uniquely engineered LEDs,” said Cary Eskow, director of Avnet LightSpeed. “For example, their Dynasty family of integrated high-brightness LEDs combines an array of 16 die, an internal heat sink and a lens into a single hermetically sealed package. These devices emit light in a continuous 360 degree viewing angle and can be panel mounted. There’s nothing else like it.”
According to Dr. Densen Cao, president of CAO Group, “The Dynasty is well suited for almost any illumination application and is ideal for the automotive, aerospace, general lighting, marine and signage industries, as well as in systems intended for outdoor or wet environments. As with all new technologies, providing LED applications expertise and experience to customers is the key to success. That’s why we’re so excited to work with Avnet’s LightSpeed team.”
Unlike conventional distributors, Avnet’s LightSpeed unit works directly with customers through a national team of dedicated illumination-focused “illumineers,” engineers who have experience in high-brightness LED technology, as well as thermal, drive stage and optics design.
Eskow added, “Another facet of CAO Group is their value-added board and module-level LED integration capability. Traditional lighting customers we are now engaging with may be able to accelerate their time-to-market by leveraging CAO’s high-volume ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and TS 16949 certified production facilities.”
