Zhaga Unveils Book 26: Future-Proofing Luminaire Design with Linear Socketable LED Modules

Zhaga, the global leader in the standardization of LED luminaire component interfaces, proudly announces the release of Zhaga Book 26, a comprehensive new standard for linear socketable LED modules. Designed to promote interoperability, sustainability, and serviceability, Zhaga Book 26 provides a future-proof, plug-and-play solution for the lighting industry.

Zhaga Book 26 sets the framework for fully interoperable LED modules with standardized electro-mechanical interfaces. This ensures that the modules can be easily integrated and replaced. Zhaga Book 26 also enables a reliable, cost-effective solution for luminaire assembly and future-proofs the design, maintenance and upgrade of luminaires. Available in different lengths (up to 5 feet), Book 26 LED modules offer flexibility in design, suitable for a wide range of applications from seamless lighting in troffers to slim, linear luminaires for trunking systems.

Key features of Zhaga Book 26 include:

  • Interoperability: Standardized interfaces for electrical connection and mechanical fixation, ensuring full compatibility with other certified components.
  • Flexibility in Design: Allows for multiple connector and LED module choices, thereby supporting a variety of luminaire designs and mounting options.
  • Easy installation: Designed for toolless, plug-and-play installation
  • Future-proofing: A certified system that ensures compatibility with future generations of LED modules, preserving the value of luminaires and supporting long-term sustainability.

“Zhaga Book 26 represents a major step in our mission to lead the lighting industry towards sustainability and circular economy principles,” said Heinrich Thye, Zhaga’s Secretary General. “By providing a standardized, yet flexible, platform for socketable linear LED modules, we’re making it easier for manufacturers and end-users to embrace serviceable and upgradeable lighting solutions.”

Zhaga Book 26 Certification: Confidence in Interoperability

Certification through independent test centers ensures that all Zhaga Book 26 products—including luminaires, connectors, and LED modules—meet the highest standards of interoperability. Certified products are listed in the Zhaga database, and the Zhaga certification logo guarantees compatibility and product integrity.

This certification also ensures that next-generation modules will fit seamlessly into existing Book 26 luminaires, providing a clear pathway to sustainable lighting solutions.

Zhaga Book 26 is now available for Regular and Associate Members.
