Zhaga to Showcase Smart Lighting Solutions at Smart City Expo World Congress 2024

Zhaga, the global consortium driving the standardization of LED luminaire component interfaces, is excited to exhibit at the Smart City Expo World Congress, 5-7 November in Barcelona. Visit the Zhaga booth in Hall 2, Stand F92, to explore the latest advancements in smart street lighting and sustainable urban development powered by the Zhaga-D4i ecosystem.

At the heart of Zhaga’s exhibit is Zhaga Book 18, a groundbreaking platform that enables seamless integration of streetlights with smart sensing and communication modules. The Zhaga-D4i certification program, a joint effort between Zhaga and the DALI Alliance, standardizes the mechanical interface, luminaire architecture, intra-luminaire communication, and power supply for control devices, ensuring interoperability and sustainability.

Key features of the Zhaga-D4i ecosystem include:
- Interoperable components from multiple suppliers, extending the useful life of streetlights and reducing waste.
- A smart interface between luminaires and sensor or communication modules, designed to future-proof urban infrastructure.
- A certification program with over 400 products verified by authorized testing centers, guardians of conformity that rigorously evaluate products to ensure compliance with Zhaga's specifications.

As cities strive to build smarter, more connected environments, the Zhaga-D4i ecosystem offers an efficient, long-lasting solution for smart outdoor lighting, enabling better asset management, diagnostics, and energy monitoring.

Meet Zhaga experts at the booth to learn how this ecosystem can help cities reduce operational complexity, promote sustainability, and extend the lifespan of streetlighting infrastructure.

About Zhaga Consortium
Zhaga is a global association of lighting industry members. Zhaga standardizes interface specifications for LED luminaire components, including LED light engines, LED modules, LED arrays, holders, electronic control gear (LED drivers), connectors, sensor and/or wireless communication modules and associated devices. The Zhaga interface standards enable multi-vendor ecosystem of interoperable products. To create trust in the interoperability of products from multiple vendors Zhaga has a certification and logo-program executed by third party test houses. Through its focus on interoperability, Zhaga contributes to circularity lighting via smart, connected lighting and serviceable luminaires, supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 for sustainable cities and communities. Zhaga has set up a partner and liaison program, working with recognized Standards Development Organizations and Alliances to maximize synergies, leverage external expertise and global acceptance.
