Lumileds NightScape Technology™ and LUXEON 3D LED Automotive Lighting Honored
Lumileds announced that its NightScape Technology which dramatically reduces blue light emissions from outdoor lighting at night, and its LUXEON 3D LED solution, which creates new automotive styling possibilities, have both been recognized for their innovation and recognized with a BrightStar Award from LEDs Magazine.
“On behalf of the BrightStar Awards panel, I would like to congratulate Lumileds on their high-scoring honoree status,” said LEDs Magazine Editor-In-Chief Carrie Meadows. “This competitive program allows LEDs Magazine to celebrate and recognize innovative products of the past year that demonstrate advances in LED lighting technology with flexible features, improved performance and ease of use, enhanced control capabilities, and steps toward greater sustainability in the lighting community.
NightScape Technology is the first broadband white light to significantly reduce the percent of blue content between 400nm and 500nm to less than 2%. The new technology maintains LED efficiency, delivers color rendering better than any other low blue content alternatives, and casts a warm, attractive amber-white light with a CCT of 1900K. With NightScape Technology, it is now possible to deliver outdoor artificial light at night (ALAN) that is better for the environment, reduces light pollution, and is healthier for people and wildlife alike.
LUXEON 3D LED opens new possibilities for car-body signature lighting in space-constrained environments that require homogeneous illumination and flexible line width. LUXEON 3D LED can be applied to a wide variety of automotive lighting applications and styling elements including stop, turn, DRL, grille illumination, animated scenes, and more. It is rapidly becoming the new “chrome” in automotive design.
