Lumileds 90+ CRI CoBs Get A Boost in Output and Efficacy

Lumileds has just released its latest generation of 90+CRI CoBs in both the LUXEON CoB Core Range and the LUXEON CS CoB Range. Lumileds’ unique phosphor mix incorporating KSF enables LUXEON CoBs to deliver the highest quality of light, meet the most stringent testing, backed by detailed reliability reports, and achieve the output and efficacy expected of leading CoBs.

“Our newest 90-plus CRI CoBs serve lighting manufacturers’ need for more light, higher efficacy, better than ever quality of light, and reliability they can count on,” said Noman Rangwala, Global Product Manager at Lumileds. “Color consistency requirements are critical for our customers and the latest CoBs are available as both 2 and 3 SDCM products.”

1,000 hours WHTOL 85°C/85% RH, DC
500 cycles Power TMCL
30,000 cycles of Power Switching

Superior color stability while dimming is just one key result of the company’s unique phosphor incorporating KSF. This performance is especially critical in retail installations in which spotlights are often positioned at different distances from the merchandise. To achieve even illumination, some of the lighting is dimmed and that can result in uneven color in the beam and visual effects on the merchandise. To resolve this common problem, Lumileds focused on color stability over dimming to ensure even color throughout the light beam regardless of dimming intensity.
