LightingEurope has recently published three key documents addressing important industry topics. The Call for Standards for the Radio Equipment Directive urges the European Commission to swiftly publish the awaited cybersecurity standards. The Updated Guidance on Lifetime Metrics revises the 2018 Guiding Paper on LED luminaire performance, emphasizing “useful life” requirements and recommending standardized performance data. The Guide on Emergency Lighting provides a visual overview of proper installation and maintenance, referencing the latest standards and legislation. These publications offer valuable insights and recommendations for the lighting industry, with more details available through LightingEurope. 

1. A LightingEurope Call for standards for the Radio Equipment Directive. A Statement from LightingEurope urging the European Commission to quickly publish the awaited cybersecurity standards related to the Radio Equipment Directive. 2. The Updated LightingEurope Guidance on Lifetime Metrics: LightingEurope published an update for its Guiding Paper from 2018 to evaluate the performance of LED based luminaires. With this update, we wanted to put more emphasis on explaining the “useful life” performance requirements to face the excessive and growing lifetime claims, by recommending a fixed set of performance data for LED based luminaires. 3. A LightingEurope Guide on Emergency Lighting: LightingEurope launched a visual guide to provide a complete overview of the correct installation and maintenance of emergency lighting, referencing the latest standards and relevant legislation.
